Why should I buy a custom rifle rather than a factory rifle?

While it is true that there are currently a number of high quality factory rifles available to those seeking a precision tactical, varmint, or target rifle; none of these have the accuracy and feel of a true custom built rifle. One of the major advantages to having a custom rifle built is the ability to tailor it to your specific needs. In addition, you will be able to make choices which offer the best feel according to your own personal preference. Furthermore, you will be able to make choices to give your custom rifle the look you want. And, who doesn’t like a really cool looking rifle!

The bottom line is the ability of the shooter to shoot a custom built rifle far better than anything available from a factory. This is due to a couple of factors. First, a factory can not afford to devote the production time needed for a truly precision rifle - thus accuracy suffers. Secondly, a person can shoot a rifle that is truly optimized for their personal comfort and preference far better than a rifle of the same accuracy that is not as comfortable for the shooter.

Besides, a custom rifle might not be the most expensive way to go. I was once told of a friend of one of our customers who was convinced that our rifles weren’t worth the money. So, the friend bet our customer that he could buy a factory rifle that would shoot just as well. After buying 10 to 12, or so, different factory rifles; different scopes; bedding one or more of the rifles; and working up loads for the rifles to improve accuracy - the friend decided he had lost the bet. So, he bought the custom rifle we built from our customer!!
